Separate from my Anatomy of the Season article – coming this week – I wanted to show you some of the metrics from the 91 days of the 2018/2019 campaign.
With the help of the excellent Kevin Dolan, I can present to you every player’s details for the season – how many minutes they played, how many starts, how many subs, how many star ratings they collected and what their average star rating per appearance was.
You can filter and reshape the table as you see fit yourself but here are some of the key takeaways;
The man with the most appearances was Mike Haley with 26, followed closely by Jean Kleyn and Rory Scannell.
Haley’s minute count was way out ahead of the rest with 1966 over those 26 appearances. In total, Munster used 55 players by our count.
Our top three try scorers were Keith Earls, Rhys Marshall and Darren Sweetnam.
The man with the highest Wally Rating over the whole season was Tadhg Beirne with an average Star Rating of 4.25. Jack O’Donoghue came second – he was skewed a little by having over five appearances post injury – but if we only include people with over ten appearances, Beirne is followed by Keith Earls, Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander.
